praying for Jill Carroll

I know that soldiers, contract workers, volunteers, and innocent citizens are dying in Iraq every single day. Seeing her pictures in the news brings it home all over again.

We're the same age. In a different life she could have been that girl from my English Lit class, or the one who worked across the hall. In this life, while I spout my opinion from the comfort of my home, people like Jill and Marla Ruzicka (+RIP+) have the conviction to risk their lives for their ideals.

Wish I were as brave. Wish Congress was as honorable.
