Simple Cubicle Feng Shui

Baguas? Flying Star? Black Sect? Feng Shui can get very complicated very fast. At the core of it though are common sense suggestions to make the space around you more ergonomically pleasing.

Anyone who works in a cubicle would probably agree it could use a little something. Here are a few simple ways to make your cubicle more user-friendly - Feng Shui style.

*See what's coming*
Position your chair so that you can see the entrance to your cubicle while seated at your desk. If this isn't possible, place a mirror on your desk so that you have a view of the entrance. Being able to see who might be approaching reduces anxiety.

*Bring nature in*
The office is not our natural habitat, and many people find its harsh lights and drab colors to be draining. Bring some living energy to your space by placing a plant or fountain on your desk. Use a desklamp to give you a softer light source. Placing photos of nature scenes on the wall can also be helpful.

*Remove obstructions*
Keeping your desk and the cubicle entrance free of clutter, boxes, and other obstructions will keep energy flowing in and around your workspace. Make a goal of handling each piece of paper that comes in only once: act on it, file it, delegate it, or toss it.
